The Role

We’re hiring a seasoned mechanical engineer with project leadership experience to oversee complex, large-scale cleanroom infrastructure projects. These efforts typically span multi-million-dollar budgets and require expertise in mechanical systems—especially HVAC—within regulated environments. This role will take responsibility for managing technical deliverables, aligning project goals across disciplines, and ensuring designs are executed to scope, schedule, and quality standards.

Key Duties

  • Act as the lead coordinator for mechanical and cross-disciplinary project development (structural, architectural, and MEP integration).
  • Oversee the progression of mechanical system designs—from early schematic layouts through final construction documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, external engineering partners, vendors, and clients to align on requirements and deliverables.
  • Guide the specification and selection of HVAC systems and equipment, including chillers, air handling units, boilers, RTUs, dehumidifiers, etc.
  • Ensure that all designs meet regulatory codes, client requirements, and project constraints.
  • Review, validate, and approve detailed mechanical drawings and performance specs.
  • Track and manage engineering budgets, scope changes, and client communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead or support value engineering efforts to improve system efficiency while maintaining compliance and performance.

Your Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree a plus).
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in HVAC or MEP systems design within a construction or design-build setting.
  • Strong foundation in large-scale, high-budget project delivery ($30M–$100M+ range).
  • Familiarity with cleanroom or controlled environment systems, including humidity and air quality control.
  • Industry knowledge in sectors such as pharma, biotech, life sciences, or high-tech manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Skilled in reading, interpreting, and managing detailed engineering and construction documents.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit, with working knowledge of codes such as ASHRAE and NFPA.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for working across clients, subcontractors, and technical teams.
  • Background in process systems (compressed air, fluid handling, etc.) is a bonus.

What You’ll Gain

  • Robust Benefits Package – Including medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Paid Time Off – Ample vacation and personal days to support work-life balance.
  • Education Support – Tuition assistance and reimbursement for certifications.
  • Professional Development – Paid training programs, workshops, and industry event access.
  • Retirement Plan – 401(k) with company matching.
  • Performance Incentives – Bonuses and employee referral rewards.
  • Growth Opportunities – Clear advancement paths with performance-based reviews.

Note:

  • No PE license is required.
  • This is a leadership position focused on overseeing full-cycle project execution—not direct CAD design work. However, prior design experience is essential for understanding and managing the technical aspects of cleanroom and MEP systems.
