About the Role
As a Quality/Industrial Engineer, you’ll serve as the primary quality lead on new product initiatives, helping to integrate quality assurance principles throughout the development lifecycle. Drawing on methodologies similar to those used in the automotive sector, this role emphasizes proactive planning and process optimization to drive high-performance results and reduce late-stage defects.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance quality across design and production phases.
- Use advanced quality planning tools such as DFMEA/PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, MSA, and Capability Studies to promote First Pass Yield success.
- Lead and support implementation of quality improvements throughout the development cycle.
- Develop and manage inspection and gauging strategies in collaboration with manufacturing teams.
- Regularly report quality metrics and project status to both internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Provide coaching to team members on the proper application of quality tools and techniques.
- Drive structured root cause analysis and lead problem-solving activities for complex technical challenges.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field (Industrial preferred).
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or quality engineering role.
- Solid background using core quality tools: FMEA, MSA, statistical analysis, and process capability validation.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering documentation and specifications.
- Skilled in gage selection and implementation of measurement strategies.
- Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault Tree, or Shainin/Red X.
- Working knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9145, AS13100, and AIAG APQP/PPAP.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and process diagramming tools like Visio.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if necessary.
